Exploring the future of Making
Dark Matter Design is a digital manufacturing studio, founded with a focus on exploration and experimentation. With Dark Matter Design, I develop and adapt digital manufacturing machines, like 3D printers, for new materials and innovative use cases. My mission is to make manufacturing more sustainable while integrating creativity and artistic expression into the manufacturing process.

Design for 3D Printing
3D printing, like any manufacturing technology, has its constraints. This is especially true for emerging technologies like 3D concrete printing. At Dark Matter Design, I specialize in designing with these constraints in mind, offering support throughout the design process, from initial advice to preparing machine tool paths.
Ceramic 3D printing
Dark Matter Design offers clay 3D printing as a service. I can help you design, print and finish your project, or only print, where you finish the pieces yourself.
The robotic 3D printers offers capabilites beyond regular 3D printers for non-planar and experimental 3D printing.
Creative robotics
Robotics has countless applications beyond traditional manufacturing. At Dark Matter Design, I specialize in implementing robotics for creative projects, such as art installations. With my strong design background and deep understanding of the creative process, I collaborate effortlessly with other creative professionals to seamlessly integrate robotics into any project.
Portfolio
Some of my recent projects.
MOAS
MOAS enables samples to travel between digital fabrication machines like 3D printers and digital embroidery machines. With MOAS a machine knows where to continue on an already existing sample. MOAS was part of the paper Exquisite Fabrication: Exploring Turn-taking between Designers and Digital Fabrication Machines
Silicone 3D printer
For the Veasko shoe project, we build and developed a Liquid Deposition Modeling 3D printer that can do Rapid Liquid Printing – 3D printing silicone suspended in gel.
